DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Genevieve was
located near latitude 22.1 North, longitude 128.6 West. Genevieve is
moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph (24 km/h). This 
general motion is expected to continue during the next several days.
 
Maximum sustained winds are now near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher 
gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast during the next few days, and
Genevieve is expected to become a remnant low late this weekend.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 996 mb (29.42 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

SURF: Swells generated by Genevieve are affecting portions of the
Baja California Peninsula and Southern California. These swells will
persist for the next several days, and are causing life-threatening
surf and rip current conditions. Please consult products from your
local weather office.
