Big Snook have started the summer migration towards the beaches with plenty of fish chewing on the east side of Pine Island Sound directly across from Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We found Snook of all sizes on the early afternoon high tides along the Fort Myers and Cape Coral shorelines. Live bait and fresh cut bait worked best.
Some larger schools of Redfish were a very welcomed surprise this past week. We found the schools all over the northern parts of Matlacha pass oyster bars and smaller mangrove islands. Cut pins did the trick for us.
Cape Coral fishing in the summer is a great time to catch a huge variety of different species.
