DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Georgette was located near latitude 15.8 North, longitude 117.5 West. Georgette is moving toward the west-southwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A west-southwestward to southwestward motion with a decrease in forward speed is anticipated over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some additional slight strengthening is possible today or tonight with little change in strength expected Friday and Friday night. Georgette is a small tropical storm. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
