Interests along the southern coast of El Salvador, Guatemala, and extreme southeastern Mexico should closely monitor the path of this system. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Three-E was located near latitude 10.8 North, longitude 89.9 West. The depression is moving toward the north near 2 mph (4 km/h). A slow motion toward the north is expected over the next day or so, followed by a turn to the west over the weekend. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 36 hours, and the depression is likely to become a tropical storm by Friday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
