DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Eight-E was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 114.8 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue with a gradual turn west-southwestward over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm later today or tonight.
