Synopsis for Keys coastal waters from Ocean Reef to Dry Tortugas
314 PM EDT Fri May 1 2026
.SYNOPSIS...A weak low pressure system will push across northern
Florida tonight into Saturday before strengthening off the
Southeast, supporting a short stretch of moderate southeast to
southerly breezes. Winds should slacken again later in the weekend
as the pressure gradient flattens. A weak disturbance in the Gulf
coupled with increased moisture will support elevated rain and
thunder chances for late in the weekend and into the first part of
next week. A ridge building over the Gulf and the Florida
Peninsula will support a return to dry conditions and light to
gentle east to southeasterly breezes.
