Synopsis for Keys coastal waters from Ocean Reef to Dry Tortugas
1026 PM EST Tue Jan 13 2026
.SYNOPSIS...A split surface ridge stretching across the Northern
Gulf and southeast Atlantic will weaken further overnight as it
shifts further southeastwards into South Florida. This will keep
breezes quite light with increasing variability. Thereafter, a
trough will swing across our area on Wednesday, briefly clocking
winds around to the southeast, then southwest, and eventually
west to northwest. This will be followed by a pre-frontal trough
and a beefy cold front on Thursday. Winds are expected to shift
northwest, becoming strong and potentially near gale breezes.
Small Craft Advisories are becoming increasingly likely, beginning
Wednesday night or Thursday.
