DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located near latitude 15.6 North, longitude 126.7 West. Odalys is moving toward the east near 7 mph (11 km/h). An eastward to east-northeastward motion at a slightly slower speed is expected for the next day or so, followed by a gradual turn toward the northeast then north later this week. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next day or two, followed by a weakening trend late this week. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km). The estimated minimum central pressure is 978 mb (28.88 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
