DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located near latitude 15.9 North, longitude 128.4 West. Odalys is moving toward the east-northeast near 9 mph (15 km/h). An eastward to east-northeastward motion at a slightly slower speed is expected through the next couple of days, followed by a gradual turn toward the northeast then north later this week. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 75 mph (120 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next day or two, followed by a weakening trend late this week. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 10 miles (20 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150 miles (240 km). The estimated minimum central pressure is 989 mb (29.21 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
