At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Hernan was
located near latitude 16.1 North, longitude 131.9 West. Hernan is
moving toward the south near 5 mph (7 km/h). A turn toward the 
south-southwest is expected on Friday, with a turn toward the west 
expected on Saturday.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts.
Hernan is forecast to become a tropical depression on Friday and a 
post-tropical cyclone early Saturday.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).
