Fishing has been very good with good action on snook, a few redfish, mackerel, nice size mangrove snapper, sharks and a few tarpon rolling around.
As is the norm plenty of mangrove snappers show up mid summer with many keepers, 10” or bigger. Snook are active along the beaches, passes and adjacent bays with some nice snook in the 30” range. we’re also catching some nice redfish at higher tides in the bays and a few along the beaches. Sharks are along the beaches and in some of the back bays. Lemon sharks, black tip sharks and bull sharks are most prevalent.

For families or newer anglers, redfish offer a forgiving and fun bite with the bonus of being great table fare.

While the peak tarpon season winds down in July, we’re still seeing opportunities—especially early in the month and around the passes. Some resident fish and stragglers from the migration are hanging near structures and rolling along the beaches during calm mornings.
