DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Nine-E was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 109.9 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue over the next few days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm later today.
