   Concerning...Winter mixed precipitation

   SUMMARY...A combination of freezing rain, sleet, and heavy snow will
   persist this morning and into the early afternoon across portions of
   the Northeast.

   DISCUSSION...As the column saturates, precipitation rates have
   increased from eastern Pennsylvania into southeast New York with
   several observation sites now reporting heavy snow. A narrow
   corridor of freezing rain exists south of the heavier snow with ice
   accretion between 0.5 and 0.1 inches per hour. Duration of freezing
   rain should be somewhat limited in any particular location as the
   freezing rain/rain/snow line advances slowly northward through the
   day. Heaviest snow is expected across northeast Pennsylvania this
   morning and into southeast New York and western Massachusetts and
   western Connecticut by early afternoon.
