Naples Fishing Charters

Naples fishing Report | Naples Fishing Charters with Capt. Mark Ward

Weather has cooled some over the last couple weeks as has the water which is good. Overall we’re catching a mixed bag of species including redfish, snook, mackerel, jacks, sharks and a few baby tarpon.

As frequently happens in September redfish have showed. A lot off reds in the high teens but also some bigger fish. Live bait, pilchards are working as well as live shrimp and jigs.

Snook are fairly prevalent in the passes, adjacent bays and some in the backcountry. Live bait has been working the best along with jigs and plugs. I love to throw topwater plugs for snook. We catch less fish than live bait but more rewarding, trying to make that perfect cast and watching them explode on the surface lure. There are some bigger fish lurking about at the higher tide phases.

There’s still some sharks along the beaches and in some backcountry bays. Mostly lemons with a few black tips mixed in.

Tides are good going leading into next week as we creep towards the new moon on Wednesday. We have a high tide early morning and will be high mid day by mid next week.
