Fishing continues to be very good. The fall mullet run has started. Snook, redfish, jacks, snapper, mackerel and sharks are happening. Weather has cooled…a degree or two and baitfish are prevalent.
Every fall from September to November mullet leave the estuaries and bays and venture into deeper water and along the beaches and shorelines of Florida. This migration stimulates other predatory fish to congregate around the mullet schools. Tarpon, sharks, snook, redfish and a variety of fish species follow the mullet looking for a meal. Consequently it’s a great time of year to fish with all the activity and bait fish around.
In the coming months the areas we fish will transition from the beaches and passes and adjacent bays to the bays and creeks deeper in the backcountry where the fish venture to in the cooler months.
Species we’re catching now include snook, redfish, mangrove snapper, spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, bull sharks, lemon sharks, black tip sharks and more.
